Saatvik Green Energy has been selected by the Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) to manufacture and supply 600 MWp of domestically manufactured solar PV modules using domestically manufactured solar cells.
Saatvik Green Energy has secured a 600 MWp capacity package from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) valued at INR 1,041.63 crore. The agreement entails manufacturing, testing, packing, supplying, and transporting photovoltaic modules built using locally produced solar cells. Fulfillment of the supply contract is slated for completion by December 2027.
The enterprise currently runs a 4.86 GW photovoltaic module production plant located in Ambala, Haryana. Additionally, the firm is building an integrated greenfield production site in Odisha. This facility is designed to feature 4 GW of module manufacturing capacity alongside 6 GW of solar cell production capacity.
According to the company, winning the tender demonstrates its compliance with Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) guidelines. It also highlights the company's capacity to equip large public sector infrastructure initiatives with locally built photovoltaic hardware.
Prashant Mathur, chief executive officer of Saatvik Green Energy Ltd., noted that the SECI contract carries importance beyond its financial scale due to its alignment with the country's renewable energy objectives. Mathur stated that the project underscores momentum toward local production and a self-sustained photovoltaic supply chain.
Mathur further detailed that the organization is expanding its operational scope through its Ambala works and the Odisha project, which encompasses Phase I targets of 2.4 GW for cell production and 4 GW for module output, followed by an intended 3.6 GW cell capacity expansion in Phase II. As the Odisha cell plant advances toward ALMM List-II inclusion, the enterprise aims to better address domestic-content mandates.
