Advertise on SolarBazaar

Reach people at the moment they are actively researching a solar purchase — comparing modules, sizing systems and shortlisting brands.

Why advertise here

SolarBazaar is not a general-interest site that happens to carry some energy content. People arrive here with a decision in front of them: whether to install, what size of system they need, which module or inverter to specify, and which manufacturer to trust with a twenty-five year warranty.

That gives the audience three qualities advertisers in this sector consistently ask for. It is high intent — readers are researching a purchase, not browsing. It is technical — our readership includes installers, specifiers and engineers who read datasheets and will notice an unsupported claim immediately. And it is comparison-stage — the site is built around product pages, brand listings and calculators, which is where a shortlist gets drawn up rather than where awareness begins.

We publish no audience figures on this page. Traffic, reach and placement availability are shared under enquiry for the specific markets and formats you are considering, so the numbers you plan against are the ones that apply to your campaign rather than a headline total.

Advertising opportunities

Six ways to reach the audience. Formats can be combined, and we will say so plainly if a format is the wrong fit for your objective.

  • Display advertising

Standard IAB placements running across article, product and comparison pages. Units are responsive and served in-page rather than as overlays or interstitials, so they sit alongside the content a reader came for instead of interrupting it.

What it suits: Best for brand awareness and sustained visibility against a defined set of topics or product categories.

  • Google AdSense

A portion of our display inventory is served programmatically through Google AdSense and its partner demand. That means you can also reach our audience by buying through Google Ads and targeting this site or the topics it covers, without booking with us directly.

What it suits: Best for advertisers already running Google Ads. Note that AdSense placements are managed by Google, not sold directly by us, so we cannot control which of those slots your creative wins.

  • Sponsored articles

Long-form editorial written to the same standards as the rest of our knowledge base: technical, specific and useful to someone weighing up a purchase. Every sponsored piece is clearly labelled as sponsored, and commercial links carry rel="sponsored".

What it suits: Best for explaining a technology, certification or product decision that a banner cannot carry on its own.

  • Featured manufacturer placements

Enhanced presence within our brand directory — a more prominent position in the listing, richer company and product detail, and clearer routes through to your range.

What it suits: Best for manufacturers who want to be found and evaluated at the point where buyers are shortlisting brands.

  • Vendor and product promotions

Promotional placement within the product categories your equipment belongs to, so the promotion appears where readers are already comparing comparable products rather than in unrelated context.

What it suits: Best for distributors and vendors promoting a specific range, offer or newly listed product line.

  • Newsletter sponsorship

A sponsor slot in the SolarBazaar email newsletter, sent to subscribers who opted in to receive it. The slot is a single clearly marked sponsor message rather than a wall of advertising.

What it suits: Best for launches, events and time-bound announcements that benefit from landing in an inbox.

Advertising guidelines

Solar is a market with a long history of overstated performance claims, and our readers are making expensive, long-lived decisions. These rules apply to every campaign we place directly, regardless of budget.

What we accept

  • Performance and efficiency claims that are substantiable, and that reference the applicable testing standard where one exists — for example IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 for modules, or stated test conditions for a rated output.
  • Equipment that is certified for the markets it is being advertised into, from a supplier who can evidence that certification on request.
  • Creatives that are immediately recognisable as advertising and visually distinct from our editorial content and site interface.
  • Savings, payback and return figures that state their assumptions, and that are presented as estimates rather than outcomes.
  • Landing pages that match the offer in the creative and disclose the terms of any promotion.

What we reject

  • Misleading efficiency, output or savings claims, including unqualified superlatives and figures that cannot be substantiated on request.
  • Counterfeit, relabelled or uncertified equipment, and any product whose certification cannot be evidenced.
  • Deceptive creatives — units that mimic our editorial layout, article headlines, search results or site interface elements such as system alerts, buttons or form fields.
  • Auto-playing audio, expanding units that obscure content without a user action, and anything designed to provoke an accidental click.
  • Malware, malvertising redirect chains, cryptomining scripts, browser fingerprinting and any tag that attempts to read data outside its own frame.
  • Guaranteed-return, risk-free investment or guaranteed-savings framing of any kind.

Campaigns must comply with the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (the CAP Code) as enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority, and with the advertising and consumer-protection law of every market a campaign is targeted into. Where local rules are stricter than the CAP Code, the stricter rule applies. Responsibility for the accuracy and legality of an advertisement rests with the advertiser.

We reserve the right to refuse, amend or withdraw any campaign or creative at any time, including after it has gone live, if it breaches these guidelines or if a claim we have queried cannot be substantiated.

Disclosure policy

Every paid placement on SolarBazaar is identified as paid. A reader should never have to guess whether they are reading editorial or advertising.

  • Sponsored articles carry a visible sponsorship label naming the sponsor, shown at the top of the article before the body copy — not buried in a footer.
  • Display units are presented so they are recognisable as advertising and visually distinct from editorial modules and site interface elements.
  • Affiliate links are disclosed where they appear, and we state when a link may earn us a commission.

Editorial independence

Advertisers have no influence over editorial content. Buying advertising does not affect our product assessments, rankings, comparison results, calculator outputs or the conclusions of any guide. Advertisers do not receive advance review of editorial coverage, cannot request the removal or revision of unfavourable coverage, and cannot see or approve editorial work before publication. Commercial and editorial decisions are kept separate, and a placement is never conditional on coverage.

Our full position on affiliate relationships, commercial content and the limits of the information we publish is set out in our disclaimer.

How to get started

Four steps from first enquiry to a live campaign. We will tell you at step two if we do not think we can help.

  1. 1

Tell us what you want to achieve

Get in touch with your objective, the markets and audiences you want to reach, your rough timing and any campaign period you need to hit. The more specific the brief, the more useful our response.

  2. 2

    We propose formats and availability

We come back with the formats that fit the objective, what inventory is actually available for the period you want, and pricing quoted for that campaign. Pricing is quoted per campaign on enquiry rather than from a fixed rate card.

  3. 3

    Creative and compliance review

You supply creative or a content brief and we review it against the advertising guidelines above. Where a claim needs substantiation we will ask for it before the campaign is scheduled.

  4. 4

    Campaign goes live with reporting

The campaign is scheduled and delivered, and you receive delivery reporting for the placements we serve directly. We will flag anything that needs a creative change mid-flight.

Ready to talk about a campaign?

Send us your objective, target markets and timing, and we will come back with the formats that fit, what is available and a price for that campaign. Pricing is quoted per campaign on enquiry — we do not publish a rate card, and we do not guarantee placement, leads or performance.

Every enquiry is reviewed against the advertising guidelines above before anything is quoted. Accepting a booking never commits our editorial team to covering an advertiser or their products.
