Ib vogt APAC, the Singapore-registered arm of a German renewable energy firm, announced the start of construction on a 99-megawatt photovoltaic installation in Ajuy, Iloilo, the Philippines. The ground-breaking ceremony took place on September 15 for the Luca Solar Power Plant, which is projected to supply approximately 158 gigawatt-hours of electricity once finalized.
The development advances the regional subsidiary's objective to attain a portfolio of nearly 500 megawatts of operational and developing capacity within the country before the conclusion of the year. The Berlin-based parent organization maintains a global presence spanning over 30 nations, overseeing a development pipeline that includes roughly 29 gigawatts of solar installations, 9.70 gigawatts of battery storage, and 1.90 gigawatts of wind energy initiatives.
David Ludwig, chief executive officer of the Asia-Pacific division, noted that the enterprise previously initiated operations at its inaugural combined solar and storage facility in the country earlier in the year. Ludwig added that the firm plans to begin building its third and largest regional undertaking prior to the year's close, supported by local communities, stakeholders, and financial institutions.
