A California-based solar power equipment group said it has signed two separate five-year, 5-GW commercialization partnerships with a pair of India's leading solar module manufacturers.
Caelux Corp. has finalized two five-year commercialization agreements with Indian solar module producers Rayzon Solar and Navitas Solar, with each deal covering a 5-GW capacity. Announced on July 23, the partnerships involve combining Caelux power-generating glass with the manufacturers' TOPCon technology to build hybrid tandem modules capable of reaching up to 28% efficiency.
These agreements follow a 3-GW, five-year pact between Caelux and Solx that was made public in April. Baldwin Park, California-based Caelux noted that the multi-gigawatt deals highlight the global transition of perovskite innovation from a development concept to commercial deployment.
The collaboration with Navitas Solar will utilize Caelux glass alongside Navitas N-Type TOPCon technology to manufacture ultra-high efficiency modules. Founded in 2013 and based in Surat, Gujarat, Navitas features Mono PERC and high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon capabilities. According to Navitas co-founder and director Ankit Singhania, the alliance establishes an early route for large-scale hybrid tandem module production in India, supporting the national target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
For the agreement with Rayzon Solar, Caelux will merge its glass technology with Rayzon TOPCon products. Rayzon will utilize its 11.3-GW large-scale bifacial manufacturing platform, which holds Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) listings and operates facilities in Kim and Kosamba, Surat. Rayzon co-founder and managing director Chirag Nakrani stated that the collaboration advances the company's technology leadership and local manufacturing scale.
The joint ventures are intended to align with the Indian government Make in India initiative, supported by Production Linked Incentives Schemes from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and ALMM requirements. India currently accounts for over 150 GW of installed solar power, ranking as the third-largest deployed solar market globally. Meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's target of 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030 will require adding 350 GW of renewables in less than four years.
The companies are presently working on early deployments, with commercial-scale volumes targeted for 2028. The resulting hybrid panels are expected to qualify for India government-tendered utility markets while enhancing power density compared to standard silicon configurations.
