Overview

The BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS is a modular 48V lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack for use with an external inverter. Between 1 and 6 battery modules can be used in a single stack to give 4.0 to 24.0 kWh usable capacity. Alternatively, up to 16 Battery-Box LVS stacks consisting of between 1 and 4 battery modules can be connected in parallel to give a maximum capacity of 256 kWh. Additional LVS modules or parallel stacks can be added at any time to increase capacity, 1 PDU base and cover is required for each battery stack and 1 BMU p er system/inverter. Scalable from 4 kWh to 256 kWh Maximum flexibility for any application with up to 64 modules connected in parallel Compatible with market leading 1 and 3 Phase Inverters Cobalt Free Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Battery: Maximum Safety, life cycle and power Capable of High-Powered Emergency-Backup and Off-Grid Function Patented Internal Plug Design Requires No Additional Wiring Self-Consumption Optimization for Residential and Commercial Applications Maximum current at different temperatures Temperature Maxium charge current Maximum discharge current Remarks -10℃≤T<0℃ 48A 48A *N of the modules 0℃≤T<5℃ 48A 65A *N of the modules 5℃≤T<50℃ 65A 65A *N of the modules, up to 250A per tower Note: Commissioning the battery requires a device capable of running the BYD Be Connect App - available for the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Excludes: Cat5 cable for communication between BMU and parallel stacks, 1x required per stack/PDU.

What these specifications mean

BYD Battery Box Premium LVS is listed with 4 published specifications from BYD, including temperature of Maxium charge current, -10℃≤t<0℃ of 48A, 0℃≤t<5℃ of 48A and 5℃≤t<50℃ of 65A. Those figures are what decide whether this unit fits your system, so read them against the equipment it will connect to before comparing price.

For a battery, the figures that matter most are communication protocol (CAN or RS485) for talking to the inverter, nominal capacity in ampere-hours (Ah) or kilowatt-hours (kWh), usable capacity after depth of discharge — LiFePO4 typically allows 80–100%, lead-acid closer to 50% and system voltage: 12 V, 24 V and 48 V for low-voltage packs, or a high-voltage stack. Storage is what turns a solar array from a daytime bill-reducer into a system that covers evening loads and rides through outages. It is normally the single most expensive component, so sizing it correctly matters more than with any other part.

Before you buy a battery

The checks below apply to any battery. Run them against the specification table above — most disappointing solar purchases are compatible-on-paper units that fail one of these in practice.

  • Match voltage to the inverter, and confirm the battery appears on the inverter maker's supported list. Closed-loop communication lets the inverter respect the battery's real charge limits instead of guessing.
  • Read the warranty in full: lithium warranties are stated as a term plus either a cycle count or a total energy throughput, and whichever limit arrives first ends the cover.
  • Leave room to expand. Packs that parallel cleanly let you add capacity later; ones that do not force a full replacement.
  • Compare usable kilowatt-hours, not nameplate capacity. A 100 Ah lead-acid battery at 12 V is nominally 1.2 kWh but only about 0.6 kWh is safely usable, while a 100 Ah LiFePO4 pack gives you roughly 1.0–1.2 kWh.

Where buyers lose money

  • Installing lithium packs in an unventilated, hot enclosure. Sustained high temperature is the fastest way to lose cycle life.
  • Ignoring the charge current limit and pairing a large array with a small bank, which trips protection and shortens life.
  • Mixing old and new batteries, or different chemistries, in one bank. The weakest unit drags the whole bank down and can be damaged by the others.

Price and availability in United Kingdom

BYD Battery Box Premium LVS is listed at £ 1,031 (GBP) for United Kingdom. Solar pricing moves with supply, import duties and exchange rates, and distributors set their own margins, so treat this as a comparison reference and confirm the current figure before you order.

SolarBazaar compares equipment rather than selling it. Shortlist here on specification and price, then buy from an authorised distributor or installer in United Kingdom: warranty cover on solar hardware is normally honoured through the channel you bought from, so confirm who supports BYD locally before ordering.

BYD Battery Box Premium LVS — frequently asked questions

How much does BYD Battery Box Premium LVS cost?

BYD Battery Box Premium LVS is listed at £ 1,031 (GBP) for United Kingdom. The figure is indicative — solar prices move with supply, duties and exchange rates, and each distributor sets its own margin — so confirm the current price with a supplier before ordering.

What are the specifications of BYD Battery Box Premium LVS?

We hold 4 published specifications for this battery, including temperature Maxium charge current, -10℃≤t<0℃ 48A, 0℃≤t<5℃ 48A and 5℃≤t<50℃ 65A. The full table is on this page, listed under model BYD-LVS-MODULE.

Who makes BYD Battery Box Premium LVS?

BYD Battery Box Premium LVS is a BYD product, listed under batteries with model reference BYD-LVS-MODULE. The BYD brand page lists the rest of its range so you can compare across the catalogue.

Is BYD Battery Box Premium LVS right for my system?

That depends on what it has to connect to. For a battery, check nominal capacity in ampere-hours (Ah) or kilowatt-hours (kWh), usable capacity after depth of discharge — LiFePO4 typically allows 80–100%, lead-acid closer to 50% and system voltage: 12 V, 24 V and 48 V for low-voltage packs, or a high-voltage stack against the rest of your equipment before price enters the decision. Check the continuous discharge rating against your inverter. A battery that stores plenty of energy but can only deliver 50 A cannot support a large inverter at full output.

Where can I buy BYD Battery Box Premium LVS in United Kingdom?

SolarBazaar lists and compares equipment rather than selling it. Use the specifications and price here to shortlist, then buy through an authorised distributor or installer in United Kingdom — buying in-channel is what keeps the manufacturer's warranty valid.
