Unlike traditional rooftop infrastructure, plug-in solar arrays feed power directly into standard domestic electrical outlets via an inverter to offset household power draw. These systems typically generate between 600 to 800 watts, cost up to $1,300, and do not require professional electrician installation. Specialists estimate payback periods ranging from four to ten years, with potential annual savings between $300 and $400 for solar generation alone, and up to $1,000 when combined with battery storage. Portable configurations allow users to retain ownership and relocate the equipment when moving homes.
