Overview
Loom introduces the CAML 5 MWh Containerized BESS Solution for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. These systems are designed for peak demand management and peak-shaving applications.
The BESS charges during daytime hours (11:00 AM to 2:00 PM) using solar power when electricity tariffs are at their lowest. During evening peak demand hours (5:00 PM to 11:00 PM), the stored energy is discharged to reduce grid dependency and lower electricity costs.

Reading the specifications
Detailed specifications for CAML 5 MWh Liquid Cooled Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) have not been published yet. Loom Solar lists this battery in the Batteries, and we add fields as the manufacturer releases them — in the meantime, ask your distributor for the datasheet before ordering.
For a battery, the figures that matter most are nominal capacity in ampere-hours (Ah) or kilowatt-hours (kWh), usable capacity after depth of discharge — LiFePO4 typically allows 80–100%, lead-acid closer to 50%, system voltage: 12 V, 24 V and 48 V for low-voltage packs, or a high-voltage stack and continuous charge and discharge current, which limits how much power you can draw from the pack. Storage is what turns a solar array from a daytime bill-reducer into a system that covers evening loads and rides through outages. It is normally the single most expensive component, so sizing it correctly matters more than with any other part.
Choosing a battery: the checks that matter
The checks below apply to any battery. Run them against the specification table above — most disappointing solar purchases are compatible-on-paper units that fail one of these in practice.
- Leave room to expand. Packs that parallel cleanly let you add capacity later; ones that do not force a full replacement.
- Compare usable kilowatt-hours, not nameplate capacity. A 100 Ah lead-acid battery at 12 V is nominally 1.2 kWh but only about 0.6 kWh is safely usable, while a 100 Ah LiFePO4 pack gives you roughly 1.0–1.2 kWh.
- Size from your evening consumption. Add up what actually runs after sunset for the hours you want covered, then divide by the usable capacity per unit — that number, not the array size, sets how many batteries you need.
- Check the continuous discharge rating against your inverter. A battery that stores plenty of energy but can only deliver 50 A cannot support a large inverter at full output.
What people get wrong
- Installing lithium packs in an unventilated, hot enclosure. Sustained high temperature is the fastest way to lose cycle life.
- Ignoring the charge current limit and pairing a large array with a small bank, which trips protection and shortens life.
- Mixing old and new batteries, or different chemistries, in one bank. The weakest unit drags the whole bank down and can be damaged by the others.
Price and availability in India
CAML 5 MWh Liquid Cooled Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is listed at ₹ 75,000,000 (INR) for India. Solar pricing moves with supply, import duties and exchange rates, and distributors set their own margins, so treat this as a comparison reference and confirm the current figure before you order.
SolarBazaar compares equipment rather than selling it. Shortlist here on specification and price, then buy from an authorised distributor or installer in India: warranty cover on solar hardware is normally honoured through the channel you bought from, so confirm who supports Loom Solar locally before ordering.
CAML 5 MWh Liquid Cooled Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) — frequently asked questions
How much does CAML 5 MWh Liquid Cooled Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) cost?
CAML 5 MWh Liquid Cooled Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is listed at ₹ 75,000,000 (INR) for India. The figure is indicative — solar prices move with supply, duties and exchange rates, and each distributor sets its own margin — so confirm the current price with a supplier before ordering.
Who makes CAML 5 MWh Liquid Cooled Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)?
CAML 5 MWh Liquid Cooled Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a Loom Solar product, listed under batteries. The Loom Solar brand page lists the rest of its range so you can compare across the catalogue.
Is CAML 5 MWh Liquid Cooled Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) right for my system?
That depends on what it has to connect to. For a battery, check usable capacity after depth of discharge — LiFePO4 typically allows 80–100%, lead-acid closer to 50%, system voltage: 12 V, 24 V and 48 V for low-voltage packs, or a high-voltage stack and continuous charge and discharge current, which limits how much power you can draw from the pack against the rest of your equipment before price enters the decision. Compare usable kilowatt-hours, not nameplate capacity. A 100 Ah lead-acid battery at 12 V is nominally 1.2 kWh but only about 0.6 kWh is safely usable, while a 100 Ah LiFePO4 pack gives you roughly 1.0–1.2 kWh.
Where can I buy CAML 5 MWh Liquid Cooled Containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in India?
SolarBazaar lists and compares equipment rather than selling it. Use the specifications and price here to shortlist, then buy through an authorised distributor or installer in India — buying in-channel is what keeps the manufacturer's warranty valid.
