Dakota Lithium 12V 100AH Deep Cycle LiFePO4 Battery + Free Shipping & Lifetime Customer Support

Built Dakota tough, this 12 volt lithium battery packs a big punch. Engineered with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology this battery has twice the power, half the weight, and lasts 4 times longer than a sealed lead acid battery – providing exceptional lifetime value. 100 Amp hours of capacity provides a full day of power for high amp draw trolling motors or for long days on the open road in your RV.

Ideal for deep cycle applications like trolling motors, solar energy storage, or boating, where you need lots of power for a long time.  Same performance as our legendary 10 Ah battery, but with 1,000% more capacity. All backed up by a best in class 11 year warranty. LiFePO4 charger included.

Dakota Lithium Battery Specifications:

Storage Capacity: 100 ampere hours (Ah). Dakota Lithium batteries provide consistent power for all 100 amp hours. DL LiFePO4 batteries have a flat voltage curve, which means they have a steady power output as the battery discharges. The power output will not dramatically drop like similar sized SLA batteries. You get all the juice down to the last drop.

Voltage: 12.8V

Energy: 1280 Watts (Wh)

Terminals: F12 Terminals (posts that screw in) with M8 post bolts included. (Max torque 15 ft. lbs.)

Size: 12.99 in (330mm) L x 6.77 in (172mm) W x 8.66 in (220mm) H. Group 27 equivalent.

Weight: 31.9 lbs (14.5Kg). That's 60% lighter than a SLA battery.

Group Size 27 & 31: BCI Group Number 27 & 31 equivalent / compatible for physical dimensions (L x W x H) & terminal location. Usable deep cycle capacity is much higher (2x) than a lead-acid battery of the same group size. Deep cycle only. Not for starting engines.

Lifecycles (Battery Lifespan): Up to 80% capacity for 2,000 cycles in recommended conditions. The typical SLA has 500 cycles. Dakota Lithium batteries last so long that the price per use is a fraction of traditional batteries.

Operating Temperature: Ideal for rugged & harsh environments. Much better than SLA or other lithium’s. -20'F min, +120'F max optimal operating temps (battery performs well down to -20'F). Avoid charging below 32'F.

Discharge: 100 A max continuous, 200 A max pulse 10 second pulse. The flat discharge voltage curve provides a 75% bigger capacity then a SLA 100Ah battery.

Charge: 50 A max, 14 V max recommended, 15 V max. Included is a LiFePO4 compatible charger. A SLA charger may work, but will reduce performance and lifespan of the battery.

Includes active BMS Protection: Contains a circuit that handles cell balancing, low voltage cutoff, high voltage cutoff, short circuit protection and high temperature protection for increased performance and longer life.

Certifications: All batteries are UN 38 certified. Dakota Lithium's cells are UL1642 certified and have been tested per IEC62133 standards. Meets all US & International regulations for air, ground, train, & marine transport.

How to read this datasheet

Detailed specifications for Dakota Lithium 12V 100Ah | Deep Cycle LiFePO4 Battery | Lithium Solar Battery have not been published yet. Dakota Lithium lists this battery in the Batteries, and we add fields as the manufacturer releases them — in the meantime, ask your distributor for the datasheet before ordering.

For a battery, the figures that matter most are cycle life at a stated depth of discharge, commonly 3,000–6,000 cycles for LiFePO4, round-trip efficiency, around 90–95% for lithium and 75–85% for lead-acid, communication protocol (CAN or RS485) for talking to the inverter and nominal capacity in ampere-hours (Ah) or kilowatt-hours (kWh). Storage is what turns a solar array from a daytime bill-reducer into a system that covers evening loads and rides through outages. It is normally the single most expensive component, so sizing it correctly matters more than with any other part.

What to check before ordering

The checks below apply to any battery. Run them against the specification table above — most disappointing solar purchases are compatible-on-paper units that fail one of these in practice.

  • Read the warranty in full: lithium warranties are stated as a term plus either a cycle count or a total energy throughput, and whichever limit arrives first ends the cover.
  • Leave room to expand. Packs that parallel cleanly let you add capacity later; ones that do not force a full replacement.
  • Compare usable kilowatt-hours, not nameplate capacity. A 100 Ah lead-acid battery at 12 V is nominally 1.2 kWh but only about 0.6 kWh is safely usable, while a 100 Ah LiFePO4 pack gives you roughly 1.0–1.2 kWh.
  • Size from your evening consumption. Add up what actually runs after sunset for the hours you want covered, then divide by the usable capacity per unit — that number, not the array size, sets how many batteries you need.

Where buyers lose money

  • Sizing the bank for total daily consumption rather than after-dark consumption, which typically doubles the cost for no benefit.
  • Installing lithium packs in an unventilated, hot enclosure. Sustained high temperature is the fastest way to lose cycle life.
  • Ignoring the charge current limit and pairing a large array with a small bank, which trips protection and shortens life.
