ACME Solar has secured a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd (SECI) for a 300 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project. The project will supply power at a tariff of INR 3.25/kWh.
ACME Solar has entered into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd. (SECI) for the development of a 300 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project. Under the agreement, electricity generated by the facility will be supplied at a tariff of $0.034 per kWh.
The long-term PPA was executed by ACME Renewtech Fifth Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of ACME Solar, with the government-owned Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd. (SECI). The agreement covers a 300 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project and will remain in effect for 25 years.
ACME Solar obtained the 300 MW allocation through SECI's Hybrid Tranche IX at a tariff of INR 3.25 ($0.034) per kWh. The company stated that the tariff has already received approval and adoption from both the Central and State Regulator.
According to the project schedule, electricity supply from the hybrid renewable energy facility is expected to begin by June 30, 2028.
The company said the wind-solar hybrid project will be linked to ISTS substations while making use of the transmission connectivity it has already secured in locations with strong solar irradiation and favorable wind resources. In accordance with the PPA, ACME Solar is required to deliver power at a minimum annual capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 30%.
Following the signing of this agreement, ACME Solar's portfolio of projects backed by executed PPAs has grown to 6,870 MW. This forms part of the company's overall contracted renewable energy portfolio of 8,070 MW, which spans solar, wind, hybrid, firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE), as well as energy storage projects.
The company's total renewable energy portfolio consists of 2,990 MW of operational contracted capacity, while another 5,080 MW is currently under construction. Of the capacity being built, 3,880 MW is supported by signed PPAs. In addition, ACME Solar is developing approximately 3.62 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity.
